By Jitendra Baghel, Admissions Counsellor at Pramana Institute
For a family in Shajapur, Shujalpur, Maksi or Kalapipal, Indore is the nearest big city: about 100 km by road, roughly two hours by car, and there are also trains of about two and a half hours. That closeness changes the coaching decision. Your child can study in Indore without feeling far from home, and you can visit often.
This page explains why families from the Shajapur side choose Indore, what to look for in a coaching institute, and what Pramana offers.
Why the coaching decision matters more than the city
Most students who move for coaching are not short of effort. What decides their result is whether someone notices early when they fall behind. In a batch of 150, a student can lose two chapters before anyone sees it. That is the real risk of moving away: not the distance, but being one face among hundreds with no one checking in.
So the first question is not “Indore or somewhere else?” It is “Will my child be known, tracked and helped every week?”
Why Indore suits families from Shajapur
- Distance: about two hours by road, so a parent can come for a meeting and be home the same day.
- Cost: living costs are usually lower than in the big coaching cities further away.
- Same state, same board: school and coaching fit together.
- Nearby districts: families from Dewas and Ujjain make the same choice; their pages cover the same questions.
Why Pramana
- Batches of at most 40, so teachers know each student by name and by weak chapter.
- IIT graduates and senior faculty: Kumar Sir (Physics, IIT Kanpur), Abhishek Jaiswal (Maths, IIT Roorkee), Kokil Jain (Chemistry, IIT Kanpur), Dr Hemant Upadhyay (Zoology) and Rajesh Sahu (Botany).
- A named mentor for every 20 students, who meets each student for 15 minutes every week.
- A progress report every fortnight, sent to parents on WhatsApp, so you know how your child is doing while they are away.
