Balaghat is one of the farthest districts in Madhya Pradesh from Indore: about 560 km by road. There is no direct train. Most families go to Gondia station, about 40 km away, and take an overnight train from there. Some trains reach Indore in about 13.5 hours; others stop at Ujjain, about an hour before Indore. Why the move matters more than the map
A child who leaves home at 15 or 17 is choosing a teacher and a way of life at the same time. How the institute runs (who checks attendance, who calls when scores drop, who the student can turn to) shapes that year more than any distance on a map. For a family a night’s journey away, the right question is how well your child will be looked after, and how clearly you will know how they are doing.
Why some Balaghat families choose Indore over Kota
Kota is where many Balaghat families first think of sending a child, and it has good institutes. Indore gives your child experienced JEE and NEET teaching without leaving Madhya Pradesh: the same language, familiar food, and a city that is large, safe and well run. Why a small batch matters more when home is far
From Balaghat, a parent cannot come often. Someone at the institute has to notice a missed class, a falling test score or a student who has stopped asking questions. In a batch of 150, that is easy to miss. At Pramana every batch has at most 40 students, and every 20 students have a named mentor who meets each one for 15 minutes every week. Parents in Balaghat get a progress report every fortnight by phone or WhatsApp, covering chapter readiness, test trend, attendance and the mentor’s note.

Scholarships: why the test matters more from Balaghat
A family paying for a hostel and long journeys home has more reason to take the scholarship test seriously. The free online Prashast scholarship test runs from 31 October to 30 November 2026 and can be taken from home in Balaghat. It awards tuition scholarships of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%, and the top 10 who meet the criteria also get free hostel and meals. Scholarships are confirmed after an interview in Indore.
