Sagar is about 350 km from Indore by road: about 7 hours by car, or about 7 to 8 hours by direct bus. Direct trains take about 9 to 10 hours. That is too far to travel daily, so a Sagar student who chooses Indore will live in Indore. This page is for families who have decided their child will move away for JEE or NEET coaching, and are now choosing where.
Why the city matters less than the year your child will live there
A student who moves away for coaching changes more than their teachers. They change where they sleep, what they eat, who notices when they are tired, and who they talk to after a bad test. For a family in Sagar, Bina, Khurai, Rahatgarh, Banda or Deori, the real question is not only which city has good faculty. It is who will watch over your child for a year or two, and how quickly you can reach them if something goes wrong.
Why some Sagar families choose Indore over Kota
Many families in Bundelkhand look at Kota first, and Kota has good institutes. Indore offers the same kind of experienced JEE and NEET teaching while staying inside Madhya Pradesh: the same language, the same food, the same state board and state counselling for medical and engineering seats, and a road or rail journey from Sagar that a parent can make in a day. Why living away from home makes the size of the batch matter
When home is 7 to 10 hours away, a parent cannot drop in to check how things are going. Someone at the institute has to notice a missed class, a falling test score or a quiet week. In a batch of 150, nobody does. At Pramana every batch has at most 40 students, and every 20 students have a named mentor who meets each one for 15 minutes every week. Parents in Sagar get a progress report every fortnight by phone or WhatsApp, covering chapter readiness, test trend, attendance and the mentor’s note.

Scholarships: why the test matters more from Sagar
For a family also paying for a hostel and travel, a scholarship changes the sums. The free online Prashast scholarship test runs from 31 October to 30 November 2026 and can be taken from home in Sagar. It awards tuition scholarships of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%, and the top 10 who meet the criteria also get free hostel and meals. Scholarships are confirmed after an interview in Indore.

- Plan one visit to Indore: by road or an overnight bus, see the classrooms, meet the teachers and look at hostels the same day.
- Book the hostel before the batch starts.
