Betul is about 210 to 280 km from Indore, depending on the route. By bus it takes around 7 to 8 hours, with about 59 buses a day, and trains take about 8 hours. This page is for families who have already decided their child will live away from home for JEE or NEET, and want to know whether Indore is the right city for that year.
Why the city matters more than the distance
A Betul student who moves for coaching will live in a hostel and come home for festivals. The hours on an overnight bus matter a few times a year. The city and the institute matter every single day. So the questions to ask are about safety, cost, teaching and who keeps watch over your child.
Why families choose Indore
Indore is one of the largest coaching cities in Madhya Pradesh, with thousands of students preparing for the same exams. For a Betul family it keeps the child in the same state, with the same school boards and a familiar language and food. Hostel and PG costs are lower than in the big national coaching hubs. And with dozens of buses a day, a student from Betul, Multai, Sarni or Amla can take an evening bus and be in Indore by morning.
Why a small batch matters when you are not there
From 250 km away, you cannot see whether your child is coping. In a batch of 150, a quiet student can lose two chapters before anyone notices. At Pramana every batch has at most 40 students, and every 20 students have a named mentor who meets each one for 15 minutes every week. Parents in Betul get a progress report every fortnight by phone or WhatsApp, covering chapter readiness, test trend, attendance and the mentor’s note. You hear early, while there is still time to fix things.
Our faculty includes IIT graduates and former Allen and Aakash teachers with 14 to 25 years of experience. The teachers you meet at admission are the ones who teach the batch all year.
Where your child will stay
Hostels near the institute include Rishita Girls Hostel and SK Boys Hostel (see indorehostel.com). A hostel with meals costs about ₹6,500 to ₹15,000 a month, and a PG about ₹4,000 to ₹10,000. Our counsellors help families choose before the batch starts. Our guide to moving to Indore for coaching covers costs, safety and living arrangements in detail.

Scholarships: why the test matters more from Betul
For a family also paying for a hostel, a scholarship changes the sums. The free online Prashast scholarship test runs from 31 October to 30 November 2026 and can be taken from home in Betul. It awards tuition scholarships of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%, and the top 10 who meet the criteria also get free hostel and meals. Scholarships are confirmed after an interview in Indore.
How to start
- Take the Prashast test from home.
- Book a counselling call, then plan one visit to Indore: see the classrooms, meet the teachers and look at hostels on the same day.
- Book the hostel before the batch starts.
