By Jitendra Baghel, Admissions Counsellor at Pramana Institute
Many students who come to Indore from other districts rent a PG or hostel room in areas like Bhawarkuan. If your child is moving there, or already lives there, this page covers the trip to our centre and the things that decide whether a student settles well.
Why where a student lives decides more than parents expect
In our counselling, the students who struggle in the first months rarely struggle with the syllabus first. They struggle with a noisy room, irregular meals, a long or unsafe walk after class, and no adult who notices when they stop studying. A good PG near a bus route, with fixed meal times and a quiet place to study, does more for marks in the first term than any extra book.
Getting from Bhawarkuan to Geeta Bhawan
Our centre is at Geeta Bhawan Square on AB Road, about 4–5 km from Bhawarkuan, roughly 15–20 minutes by road depending on traffic. Morning dropper batches and 4:00–7:00 PM Class 11–12 batches both avoid the latest hours of the evening.
What to check before renting a PG (the practical part)
- Rent per bed, and what it includes: meals, electricity, Wi-Fi and laundry. Typical PG rent is ₹4,000 to ₹10,000 a month, plus ₹2,000 to ₹6,000 for food; a hostel with meals is ₹6,500 to ₹15,000.
- A quiet study area and fixed lights-out time.
- Security at the gate and a warden or owner on site.
- The walk from the PG to the nearest bus stop after dark.
- Written terms for the deposit and notice period.
Pramana does not run its own hostel, but our counsellors can tell you what to ask. With batches of at most 40 and a mentor for every 20 students, a missed class or a falling score is noticed within the week.
Fees: ₹1,00,000 + GST a year for Class 11–12 and ₹1,20,000 + GST for droppers, payable in two instalments. The free Prashast scholarship test (open until 30 November 2026) offers up to 100% off tuition, and free hostel and meals for the top 10 who meet the criteria.
